ABOUT THE CAMPAIGN

Students of the Year - North Texas Chapter

The North Texas Students of the Year campaign is a seven-week National initiative in which local high school students in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex participate in a fundraising competition to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) to win scholarships. The Students of the Year campaign allows all candidates to earn community service credit, build their college application, and actively help those battling a blood cancer. Students of the Year candidates are selected based upon an application and interview process.

Candidates rally together their communities, schools, families and friends to support their fundraising efforts. Throughout the seven weeks, each candidate or candidate team will meet with LLS staff to set a fundraising goal, develop an action plan to reach that goal, and provide support throughout the entire campaign.

The candidate or candidate team who raises the most money at the end of the seven weeks will be named the North Texas Chapter's Students of the Year at the Grand Finale Celebration in April. The Student of the Year will take home a minimum of $5,000 in scholarship money. There are additional scholarship opportunities for students who excel throughout the campaign.

Take your college applications to the next level with a leadership and philanthropic initiative.
